Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data are reshaping global health education by enabling personalized learning, predictive analytics, and evidence-based decision-making. In Nigeria, tertiary health education remains largely traditional, with minimal adoption of these transformative technologies, despite their potential to enhance clinical training, research capacity, and healthcare delivery. This paper examines the opportunities, challenges, and implications of integrating AI and Big Data into Nigerian tertiary health education. It highlights benefits such as adaptive learning systems, virtual simulations, data-driven curriculum optimization, and equitable access for students across regions. Key challenges include inadequate digital infrastructure, limited technical skills, funding constraints, weak policy frameworks, and cultural resistance. The paper underscores the importance of curriculum redesign, continuous faculty and student capacity building, strategic industry partnerships, and robust data governance for sustainable implementation. Findings suggest that a deliberate, policy-driven approach to AI and Big Data integration can produce a technologically competent, innovation-driven health workforce, positioning Nigeria to meet global healthcare education standards.
